Crossing the country for a cause

Tanner Childs, left, and Caleb Childs, both of Mt. Pleasant, N.C., prepare to continue their journey longboarding across the country Sunday, from the home of their family friend, Kristine and Pat McGuire, of Carbondale. The brothers both said they started to ride across the country from North Carolina May 14 and plan to reach San Francisco in October. The brothers said they received sponsorships and donations in order to support their trip. Their travels are dedicated to raise money for three different charities, the Semper Fi Fund, the Vickie S. Honeycutt Foundation and the North Toxaway Foodbank.
