Mike’s Music is open Monday - Thursday 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. “Our response to COVID-19 has been that we are asking that everybody wear a mask while they are here and we have had to stop in person lessons,” Ricci said.

This year, I feel like because a lot of the COVID symptoms might be similar to a regular flu, I was thinking just in case,” Zhao said.  As flu season approaches researchers are worried there will be peaks of flu and COVID-19 cases at the same time according to UCSF.edu.

The event helps to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois. The event is on its sixth year and this year the event took on a new look because of COVID-19. The duck race was moved to a virtual event, while participants were still allowed to come out to enjoy food, games, and live music in person.

The Stephen Douglas and Pierre Menard statues were removed from capitol grounds on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, in Springfield, ILL. The statue on the Illinois State Capitol grounds was voted to be removed as the former senator was noted for profiting off slavery. The board of Architect of the Capitol made the decision on Aug. 19. The Pierre Menard that was located on the grounds, was also removed because of a history of owning slaves. Talks have discussed the possibility of replacing the statues with a Martin Luther King Jr. statue that currently resides across the street from the capitol.
