Master of Foxhounds Dr. Mark Smith, of Herrin, rides toward spectators with his hounds Sunday during the 29th annual Southern Illinois Hunting and Fishing Days at John A. Logan College.

Smith and other members of Herrin-based Shawnee Hounds fox hunting club demonstrated fox hunting for spectators and allowed some to ride the horses.

Founded in 1982, the hunt club is now the only one of its kind in southern Illinois.
