For the first time in nearly 50 years, SIU is offering a course on John A. Logan College’s campus for the upcoming fall semester.

SIU students can sign up for Technical Resource Management (TRM) 322, Labor Management Relations from 6 to 8:50 p.m. Thursdays at the community in college in Carterville, according to a press release.

“We feel that this course will appeal to both the student that plans to transfer to SIU and to area business people that would like to learn more about labor negotiations and relations,” John A. Logan President Ron House said in the release.

The course focuses on modern labor relations, including labor history, law, unions and contracts.

“We’re very excited about the opportunity to extend the four walls of our university,” Mandara Savage, executive director of SIU extended campus, said in the release. “It’s our belief that any opportunity to extend the educational resources of our campus is an opportunity we should welcome — especially in this case.”
