Women’s Golf takes fifth of 11 in tournament

With junior Ashleigh Rushing leading, the women’s golf team finished fifth out of 11 teams at the Drake Creek Invitational Tuesday.

Rushing scored a career-best 71 in the second round Monday. Her overall score of 227, which is only 11 over par, tied her for 10th place individually.

Junior Cassie Rushing finished two strokes behind her sister as she tied for 13th, while senior Shaina Rennegarbe tied for 21st with 233.

The Salukis’ second-round score of 296 is the second-lowest score in school history for the second-round.

The team will be on the road again next week to play in the SIUE Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday
